This song is James' heartfelt tribute to his dear friend and colleague Joanne Shenandoah, who sadly passed away in November of 2021 at the age of 64. She was a powerful voice for peace in the world, and one of the most highly acclaimed Native American recording artists of all time. This beautiful piece combines two of her most popular songs, played on Native American flute, with percussion and vocal accompaniment. It is an honor to share this music.

Cascading Dreams is a lovely flute composition inspired by waterfalls and rivers from around the world. James is joined by recording artist and virtuoso pianist Mark Kelso. The collaboration of Native American style flute and piano gels beautifully as the piece begins gently with a contemplative stream of music that gradually cascades into a spirited improvisational jam. May you flow peacefully into your dreams.

Autumn Glory is a lovely original composition that celebrates the beauty, serenity, and vibrancy of the fall season. This piece features a stunningly gorgeous melody, played on an ambrosia maple flute, accompanied by the natural sounds of birds in the forest and a flowing stream, which enhance the feeling that life is peacefully churning along before getting ready to go into a deep winter’s rest.

Award winning producer, performer, and recording artist James Marienthal studied music and jazz improvisation at Bard College and Naropa University.
